I used a Swan Vesta matchbox which is a bit bigger than the normal ones but if you want to have a go and don't want to buy a match box then here is a pattern for you to use.
I chose to make something that my grandchildren would like. Don't ask me why, but Thumbelina came to mind. Taken from the Hans Christian Anderson book, she is tiny and would easily fit into the matchbox.
