Working with fabric

Everyone needs a way to wind down and relax and for me, the hoarder of all things paper and stamps, I need something totally different. For some time now I have been working on a cloth book. I made it some time ago and now I am beginning to add the detail.

This is how it started.

I added some stamped images using Stazon ink

And now I am embroidering the details using embroidery threads

I've also used fabric paint to colour in the stamps which worked surprisingly well.
This is a work in progress but I am making three tutorials so that you can make one of your own.

More soon xxx

Christmas Mini Book

Every year I make a Mini Book to showcase all of my Christmas photos. This year I decided to concentrate on reds and greens as I appreciate some of you don’t “love” Christmas like I do, and it made it easy to change the book from Christmas to Autumn/ Winter if you wanted to.
I mixed stamping with die cutting and trying to keep it as simple as possible.
Here is the book taught last Wednesday.

P1110145
I made sure that all of the pages and pockets were cut out and scored to make easier to put the book together.
I also kept some of the pages very simple to allow the class to add their own embellishments and ideas.
Here are a few of the pages and tags.

This book will be released as a kit with a full tutorial at the end of this week. Have a great day xxx

A Winter Book

I love penguins and polar bears so when I made this book for a class I thought it would be a great idea to use them as a theme.
P1040737
Although there are no photos in it yet, I hope to get some snowy photos nearer this Christmas.
P1040748
I used loads of glitter

and lots of punched snowflakes.

Hope you like it xxx

Two Books to share

I am still sorting boxes and have just come across two of the Snow Books made a few years back.
I love the way they still sparkle after all this time and surprisingly they still look like new.
Here is the first one using the Ice Skates
P1170133
The front cover was made using a shadow frame and as you can see, I used loads of Glamour Dust to make it “BLING”
P1170160
The boots were even laced with silver thread.

And the snow flakes and lettering were embossed to make them stand out.
I’ll share another one tomorrow. Hugs xxx
