Salisbury Cathedral

If you’re looking for somewhere to go this week for something different then take a trip to Salisbury Cathedral. In the grounds and inside the Cathedral there is a fantastic exhibition by Sean Henry.

The sculpture is set out to be interactive so you are allowed to touch and feel, although we are so used to everything being behind ropes that it was quite funny watching people touch these statues..

The sculptures are amazing and range from tiny to huge. Make sure you look everywhere for them as some of them are hidden. Thanks for looking xx

You’ve got to smile….

Sometimes you see something and think WOW and that’s exactly how I felt when I bought the August 2011 issue of Craft Stamper and saw the great Delicate Folds project by Debbie Dolphin.

In the magazine Debbie made a special card but after seeing it I just had to turn it into a book, so I added large quantities of chipboard, Distress Inks, Crackle Paint and Embellishments and made this for Saturdays Mini Project Class.

Despite the clear instructions, we all found putting the concertina pages, really tricky but it was well worth persevering. Thanks for coming ladies and watch out for the Witching Hour Class in October using Tim Holtz Dies and loads of other stuff. No dressing up required.

Lost & Found

No cats involved this time just the name of the lovely MME papers we used in the last set of fortnightly classes.

P1110598

This is an ideal layout for a wedding picture, prom gown or just a dressing up picture. Although my mum and my nan both spent a lot of their lives sewing, I don’t have one picture of them actually sewing. I really wish I had, had a digital camera back then.

P1110599

The scissors and the sewing machine are stamped and cut out to make the embellishments.

P1110600

I used the cut off edge on the paper as a template to cut out the spotty pink paper piece.

The second layout was more complicated but only because it involved lots of flower cutting.

Facebook has its uses

and one of them is to get great photos from the family. This is a great photo taken yesterday by Jennie of our lovely granddaughter Charlotte and her daddy.

I’ve been practising

my photography skills. Not for very long, because I haven’t had the time, but just a few candid shotos. with the camera off of auto for a change. Here are the results and I think they have come out pretty well.

Mini Projects are never easy……

Well I thought they would be, but if you’ve ever played with Tim Holtz products and ideas then you’ll know it’s really difficult to stop. So where do you draw the line and how much could I possibly fit into a three hour class without exhausting everybody.

This is what I came up with.

P1110420

There were lots of smaller bits to make and a background to stamp but other than that it was just playtime. Surprisingly, everyone came up with their own way of laying out the finished project and it was fantastic to see all of the different colours and ideas as the afternoon progressed.

Here are a few snapshots of the class with works in progress.

It will be lovely to see all of the finished projects which I hope everyone will bring in for us to see.

And finally some close-ups of my example

I love this Tim Holtz Die. It always looks so amazing.

P1110415

Everyone had a great time and I’ve come home ready to collapse in a chair with a hot cup of tea but my brain is still buzzing so I’m busy planning out the Book for the next class at the end of August. I love these classes.

Thanks for looking. xx

Best Friends

I love word cardstock and this is one of the best. I originally used this at a class well before we opened Scrapbook Sisters and suddenly last week I came across it again.

Summer cards to share

Here are two cards that I made for the last card class. Both very different, which can be used as Thank You or Birthday Cards.
The Hedgehog
P1110347
P1110348
I love the Candi dots and use them on both cards and Scrapbook pages. They come in loads of different colours and we usually have a good selection in the shop.

I am entering this card for:
Anything Goes - Come and Get It Challenges
A Is For Auburn - The ABC Challenge
Put A Critter On It - Little Red Wagon
Paws For Thought - Stampin' For the Weekend
Happy Birthday

P1110343
Yes a dreaded peel off but over the years I have grown to live with them. They have their place in our crafting world and sometimes they can be stunning. Karen is particularly inventive with the silhouette variety.

Thanks for stopping by. xx
