Alchemy

This was a fantastic release from SamanthaK and definitely one of my favourites. I made two layouts for this show. This is the first
I absolutely adore the little MDF bottles and Samantha even provided the tiny labels in the kit
There were some lovely words and a load of science shapes and science table printouts to use.
You can find SamanthaK's shop HERE where you can find all of her MDF releases.

Just for me

Every so often I come across a 12 x 12 paper that I can't get in quantity for a class but is crying out to be used. I fell in love with this paper which was part of a paper pack and decided to have some me time making a layout.
The face was part of the paper so I used a feather napkin to fill the bottom of the page and then stamped and coloured feathers using Distress Oxides.
I also used some foil to add a bit of sparkle.
Really pleased with this one and definitely one for the album. x

In my defence...

Last of the four projects for SamanthaK Design Team and my favourite. It was nice to get a selection that I could use for a boy page.
I loved the quote. So apt for this photo of my grandson.
I used a cut out photo and drew around it three times on black card and cut them out. The "boom" and "pow" and little explosions finished it off.
So to finish here is a picture of all three projects.
A link to SamanthaK's shop is on yesterdays post. xx

Alchemy

I am back from my holidays hence the break in blogging so I had better get cracking. So much to do and so little time.
This was the third project I made for SamanthaK. I was so chuffed that this release came with bottles, labels and science pieces as I had this picture of my granddaughter that I was desperate to use.
The wonderful thing about good quality mdf is that it takes most mediums without using any base coat like gesso. For this layout I used Matt acrylic paints. The background paper is beautiful and only needed a few lines and detail added with a white pen.
It never ceases to amaze me how intricate the wording is. So pretty.
and the periodic table elements carved into the little tiles was genius as they are just fine enough to take a different colour to the tile itself.
I made one more layout with this kit which I will share tomorrow and don't forget, you can buy all of SamanthaK amazing products HERE

Dream

Still playing with these beautiful papers and embellishments. This is layout three which I may still add to in the future but for now is finished lol.
Was nice to use some of my old punches as well and just love the clock and butterfly borders and I used part of a drinking straw to make the raised border.
Thin strips of paper curled round a pencil added to the softness of the design and the word stickers were ideal and there were so many of them.
I dry brushed all of the flowers with a bit of white paint and then added dewdrops to the flowers and tiny pink seed beads randomly on the page and around the flowers.
Working on a tag now. Well you need to have variety don't you lol. xx

Snowflakes

I have had so much trouble photographing this layout. It really sparkles like a cold frosty day but its almost impossible to see in a photo.

I started it at Christmas but left it until now to finish off, well it seemed fitting with all the snow we have had recently.

The snowflakes in the background are texture paste mixed with clear glitter and then, when dry, coated with Stickles to make it sparkle even more.
The heavy lace at the bottom is also dripping with sparkles and this floats down to the bottom of the layout.
The lovely mdf clock is from Samantha K and the flowers are a selection left over from class. I am now playing with my journal plus I have more goodies to add to the shop so watch this space. xx

Be Happy

So day two of crafting till my hearts content but this time with no video so a bit more relaxing for me. I am beginning to realise that less is more and that a little splash of colour is sometimes all you need to finish a layout.

The little patches of pink on the background were made with watercolour paint pens and a splash of water.

This is the second of three layouts I hope to complete this weekend.
and a few more photos to show the detail.

I am really enjoying myself using papers and embellishments I have had for a while. More tomorrow xx

Winter

Second and last of the serviette/napkin layouts. This time the deer is cut from the serviette
The snowflakes are cut from a Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz. It does come with a matching embossing folder but for the life of me I can't find it.
The wording was cut on the Scan n Cut. Both white and blue words were the same size so I just raised the white one a bit and it gave a snowy look.
I added doily's and lots of soft glitter to finish it off. I think it worker really well.
Well that's it from me for a few days. Off to spend Christmas with my lovely family. Have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. xxx

Friends How To Video

The first of my classes in 2017 involved using stencils and Distress inks. In order to help everyone how my thought process worked, I made a video as I went along.
Here is the layout
and the video, although it doesn't show the entire process, gives you some idea of how the layout was made.

It's Cricket

Love this layout using the cricket cutouts. It is a simple layout but really effective especially with the circle in the centre depicting the movement of the bat as it is swung at the ball.
The photos were taken on the beach on a day when the sun shone and everyone had a go at all the games. A great memory for the family album.

Have a great week xx.

The Last Sunflower

Layout two had to be easy as we were limited for time and luckily I had this wonderful paper by Kaisercraft just waiting to be used.

It didn't need much to make a lovely layout for the picture of my grand daughter out amongst the last flowers of the year.

And why the sunflower I hear you ask. Well amazingly enough to I still have a sunflower in my garden.

You can find the background paper HERE.

Come back soon xx

Colour Me Happy

This is the first of two scrapbook layouts designed for class on 15th October.

The layout was inspired by the wonderful colouring books that are popping up all over the place. On seeing the de stressing colouring pages for adults I though....."I can do that" so out came the stamps and here is the result

It's a fantastic way to use loads of different stamps including the teeny tiny ones.

Here is a bit more detail

Layout two tomorrow. Xx

The Pictures on my wall

I love putting pictures around the house so when I found some little frames in my die cutting stash I thought why not make a layout of the pictures I love.

Double frames and stamping give a 3D effect.

The little red heart added under the frame on the left just finished it off nicely. Xx

All cogs

I so love it when I find a "boy" paper and this cog was just the thing to show off photos of my grandson.

You can't see it in the photos but the cog was made so that it can turn and show off more photos or journaling.

Second layout from this class tomorrow. Xx

We don't remember days....

Layout two was made using a sketch from an old Australian paper daft magazine as inspiration. All of the flowers were made using punches.

The flower centres are sparklers and little black brads.

More tomorrow xx
