Deer Deer Rustic Gate card

There is a lot of hard work goes into preparing a card commissioned by a magazine. This month my Rustic Deer card appeared in the Docraft Creativity magazine (the magazine is really good with loads to try out and step by step instructions)
There is a lot of trial and error, preparation and experimenting before the final project is accepted so I just wanted to give you a little look at some of the tried but not used cards that fell by the wayside.

My first challenge was to make a body for the die cut stags head and then to add some detail (I had to add an eye. Nothing looks right without an eye lol)

and then the gate shape.
and of course the backgrounds but I had to use the little mushroom die in each one (well its so cute).
And then adding the greeting

Hope that gives you some idea of the amount of work that goes into each commission, but I will say I love the challenge. It makes me think and stretches my brain and crafting skills so if you ever get the chance to have a go, don't hesitate. You wont regret it.

You can see loads of wonderful inspiration from myself and the really creative Design Team over at Docrafts. xx

Dad Canvas

This is one of the projects I made for DoCrafts DT a coupke of months ago. I rewally enjoyed experimenting with the Ariste paints to get the effects I wanted.
Amazingly the paint covered the metal embellishments as well, infact I will definately use this paint again for canvas work

Here is some of the detail

Instruction for how to make this canvas will be on my Docraft Gallery soon. Enjoy the sunshine xx

A Year with Docraft DT

The first full year on the DoCraft Design Team has come to an end and I have had a blast. So many lovely boxes of goodies have arrived on my doorstep and I've had the chance to have a play with new products before they hit the shelves plus the opportunity to make a few things for the Creativity Magazine and The Home Shopping Network (HSN).

Here are my favourites but if you want to see more, my DoCraft Gallery is HERE.

Don't forget, this is only the work I do for magazines, DT's and for myself in my own personal time. I also make 6 scrapbook pages and at least 6 new cards every month and you can see all of this work on my other Blog  www.ladiesthatcraft.blogspot.co.uk

I have made some amazing new friends on the Docrafts DT so please take the time to pop across to their blogs and leave some love. To do this just follow the links below.

Never Let Go Of Your Dreams

This chipboard shape is also in the compendium, It's not something I would use on a scrapbook layout but it does work on a card.
The paper I chose has a lovely butterfly pattern along the bottom so it really needed very little decoration.

I'm working on my canvas and Art Journal this week so I'll share some tomorrow. x

Dream Big

The first of two cards made using the Compendium and the new stamps. I made a cloud stencil on the Scan n Cut and then drew round it using a fine black pen.
I added some blue clouds and then stamped and matted the greeting into the centre.
To finish I stamped some of the words from the stsamp set, onto the clouds. Yes I know its simple but thats the beauty of it. Sometimes less is more. xx

Walkin On Sunshine

This is the second layout made from the Compendium. I still can't get over just how many papers are in the kit. The main chipboard frame is also in the kit plus a few more.

The scallop border was made using an XCut border punch.
Here's the little sticky letters I told you about yesterday.

 and those lovely stamps again.
A couple of cards still to come but thats for tomorrow. xx

Trentham Gardens 2015

Part of my DT kit from DoCrafts was a beautiful Butterfly Dreams Scrapbook Compendium (PMA 105151). The papers are really delicate and you get loads as well as stickers, letters, gems, ribbond and buttons.

This is the first of two layouts I made last night.
The papers are so lovely that you really don't need to add much else.
The swirl, wording and little hearts are from the new Inspirational Sentiments stamp set  (DCE 907134)

You get two sets of letter, one made from chipboard and the others are little sticky letters.

Hope you like it. You can find more of my work in my DT gallery HERE. Have a great day xxx

Gorjuss Frame

I have got loads and loads of to Santoro Gorjuss chipboard frames and I wanted to find a way to use them. Luckily enough I had some of the Ikea plastic frames left from last years tag class and hey presto,  one little girl frame.

A few buttons for embellishments and some of that loively Santoro Gorjuss ribbon and the frame is complete.

Don't forget, you can see loads more of my class work at www.ladiesthatcraft.blogspot.co.uk.
