A head start on Halloween

So what do you do with juice cartons when they are empty? Well our Lesley makes beautiful haunted houses out of them.

How cute is this

And to make it even better you can put a battery operated candle light inside and it becomes a lantern.

Can't wait to have a go myself. Thanks for sharing Lesley. Fantastic idea xx

I told you I like butterflies

Loved this card. So easy but effective and as long as you have two different butterfly stamps of different sizes anyone can make it.

The Happy Birthday greeting was stamped in red ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder to make it pop.

Have made a few more of these for birthdays this year. X

Bright colours for a little boy

It just had to bright and vibrant colours for the second layout as I wanted to use two photos of my young grandson.

It looks really easy however it was time consuming as all of the vehicles were cut out and paper pieced. Still I think the finished layout worked over all.

Love those cog stamps.

Back with cards tomorrow xx

Scrapbook Class 17.9.15

This was a lovely class with a bit of vintage and a bit of bright and playful and loads of detail.

The first layout is the vintage one. Lots of stamping, cutting out and even some delicate stencilling to add a little bit of vintage white to the background paper

And yes I just love those butterflies.

If you look at all of the stamps I have collected over the years you will find many, many butterflies and I still use them at every opportunity.

Second layout tomorrow. Xx

Great morning at Quilting Show

It's not very often I get the chance to visit a Quilting Show so I was delighted when I discovered one right on my doorstep

The quilts were gorgeous and the ladies were welcoming and friendly, oh and last but not least, the cake was lovely.

Here are a few pictures

The blue and white quilt in the background was the first prize in the raffle

And there were loads of scrummy things to buy. I bought a lovely blue patchwork bag.

And this was one of my favourites.

Must say it was lovely to be able to take photos, and all of the ladies who made the quilts were happy to talk about them and share their techniques and ideas.

If you want to go tho the show, it is held bi-annually so the next one will be in 2017. A date well worth putting in your diary. Xx

Blue is beautiful

And I mean all shades of blue.

But navy blue is not a colour I normally use a lot of so when I got my DT kit from Docraft I got ready for a challenging time. Infact I had no trouble at all and I'm really please how it turned out.

I will definitely buy more of the ink pads as they make such great backgrounds.

Here is a bit of detail but if you want step by step instructions pop across to the Docrafts site HERE and make a layout of your own. It's really easy honest

I really loved the cork embellishments as well

Don't forget, if you live in near Twydall in Kent, there is a quilting show at the local school. The details are:

26th September Sewing Together - Quilting Exhibition at Twydall Primary School, Twydall Lane, Gillingham,Kent ME8 6JS £2 entrance

There is a raffle with a Double Size Willow Pattern Quilt as first prize so don't forget to but a ticket or two.

Have a fantastic weekend xx

Who mentioned Christmas

I thought I'd share a project I made recently for Docraft. Part of my Design Team kit included polystyrene balls and they were just crying out to be made into a wreath.

Once I started it was easy. I used paint, peel offs, bells and glitter and had a great time.

If you want to see step by instructions on how to make your own wreath, pop across to the Docrafts website HERE.

I've neglected my blog lately. I plan to rectify this over the coming weeks by sharing all of my new makes. Keep popping back xx

Bright and Beautiful

This is the second layout from Scrapping Your Family last Saturday and the second of the two layouts available in the latest kit.

I really enjoyed making this one. It's bright and cheerful and allowed me to use loads of punches which I haven't done for a while.

If you would like to have a go at making this and the Wedding layout, scroll down and you will find the kit details.

I do send to anywhere in the world however postage may vary depending on the country. I also sell all of my layouts complete so that all you have to do is add a photo. These make great gifts for family and friends.

If you want more information or would like to order from me please email me at ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk

Have a great day xxx

The first class after summer break

The first class back after summer break was the Scrapping Your Family class on Saturday. Having had all the excitement of my nieces wedding in August I just had to use one of the pictures for the first layout.

Of course any photo would also work but I think my choice was ok.

This layout is part of a new kit released this morning. Please scroll down to see more details of how you can order yours.
