A New Release for the New year

At the beginning of this year I was approached by the Art and Craft Academy to make some programmes for them. Yesterday I got a massive surprise when I received copies of the first 4 DVD’s going on sale soon.


The DVD’s cover Making Wedding Invitations (double DVD), Card Making (Double DVD) with karen as Creative Editor, Stamping and Punching (Single DVD), and An Introduction to Scrapbooking (Single DVD) with Karen as Creative Editor.  There will also be a few more titles added this year so keep checking back for more details.
At present you will be able to buy them on Amazon.

Two Books to share

I am still sorting boxes and have just come across two of the Snow Books made a few years back.
I love the way they still sparkle after all this time and surprisingly they still look like new.
Here is the first one using the Ice Skates

The front cover was made using a shadow frame and as you can see, I used loads of Glamour Dust to make it “BLING”

The boots were even laced with silver thread.

And the snow flakes and lettering were embossed to make them stand out.

Merry Christmas

It’s been a roller coaster of a year but at last Christmas is here and a New Year is in sight.

I would like to wish my family and friends a very Merry Christmas and extend a big thank you to everyone for their continued support and help during 2012

Another one to share

Photos are coming thick and fast now of the finished projects from Saturday.
This beauty was made by Michelle. She added a great tree die-cut and included a pink kite which really worked.

CROP tickets now available

The first Crop of 2013 is on 2nd March from 10am to 4pm at Parkwood Community Centre.
A Crop is a craft day where you come along with your craft bits and have a whole day with like minded people. You can bring along anything, knitting, crochet, patchwork, Scrapbooking, Card Making, the list is endless and I provide all the tea, coffee and cakes. You just need a packed lunch although at the last crop loads of ladies went to the fish and chip shop and brought them back.

It is a great day out and a fantastic way to make new friends, share ideas and have some “ME TIME” with like minded people.

Remembered to take the Photo

By the skin of my teeth I might add as completely forgot before I went out Christmas shopping.
Here is the project from yesterdays class

and you can now pre-order this kit which is nearly ready and will be sent out on 15th December just in time for you to make it over Christmas for next year

The kit includes everything you need to make the calendar including:
All Diecuts,
Blank calendar,
Papers,
Pearls and gems,
Chipboard ,
Tissue or masking tape
Two small paints .
All you need are some coloured pens ie Pro Markers or Copics (even felt pens will do), Glossy Accents (or equivalent), glue and either a brown and green Distress Ink or chalks (or something to distress and colour the edges of the circles with).
Each kit is £30 and each classmate will receive access to my on-line classroom with full pictures, instructions and videos to help you complete your project.

A Great Day

Last class for 2012, chocolate rolls, mince pies and a warm room to craft in. Creativity 101 was a great class to finish the year with and did we laugh. Oh yes we did..

Sorry it’s only a little peek at the project but in all the excitement I forgot to take a picture of my completed project. I’ll post a proper photo tomorrow when there’s more light.

Sold Out

The on-line Card Class and Kit has now SOLD OUT so thank you to everyone who ordered.  There will be two new Scrapbook Kits coming out over Christmas.

Card Class

We had a great time on Thursday last week making cards for Christmas and Birthday. There were 8 cards in all to choose from and most ladies made four.

All of these cards are now available in kit form and if you want to have a play you will receive 4 cards in your kit along with access to the classroom where you will find full instructions, pictures and videos to help you make them.

A New Kit

On Saturday I taught a one page Class. If you took part in the class or bought the kit on the day you will soon be receiving an invite to join the classroom where you will find full instructions and detailed photos. (The class is being uploaded to the site at this very moment.)

I am still making kits for Thursdays Card Class and listening to the rain hammering down outside. Wonder how many of us will be wearing wellies in class:).

Great Crop

Thank you to everyone who made yesterday such a lovely day. Gayle worked like a Trojan making loads of lovely make and takes, and everyone helped tidy up so thank you so much.

CROP update

Hi everyone

Here are the details you need for the Crop this Saturday 24th November 2012.

The Venue is:

Parkwood Community Centre

Parkwood Green

Rainham, Kent. ME8 9PN

Doors open at 9.45am and the Crop finishes at 4pm

You will need to bring a packed lunch as we are not selling sandwiches this time. Gayle will be there with Make and Takes at £1 each plus I will be holding a one page scrapbook class for anyone who wants to take part. You can book when you get there. The cost for this will be £5

I have managed to get some new goodies together so although there won’t be a shop there will be some items for sale.

Please remember this is a ticket only event and you will need to sign the fire register when you arrive. You have until midnight tonight to book your Crop tickets if you haven’t already. There are 6 left and you can book them HERE.

A New Release

Last night was our Scrapbook Class night and we made three lovely layouts including a Christmas/Winter one. Thanks to Maria we had some lovely chocolate biscuits with our drinks and thanks to the photography club in the main hall, soft music all evening.

Mini Book Class

I had a great time last night teaching the first Mini Book class in the new classroom. I managed to get hold of the new Prima Papers which are surprisingly bright and cheerful.

Happy Birthday Mum

Yes mum has a birthday today and a few years back I made a layout for my Family Album to celebrate using four photos from different times.

Luckily I still have another sheet of the background paper and four new photos so I will make this into a double.

I’ve found a few more layouts

Yes I’m still sorting and come across so layouts from 2010/2011. I’ve got a rotten cold at the minute so I’ve just been sitting on the sofa looking through the old albums. I reckon I will need about 10 more before I’m finished. I can’t believe how many pages I have made.
This one was from a Scrapping Your Family class and one of my favourites. I used a stormy sky Distress Ink to colour the background which is done on the reverse of a piece of yucky green and yellow embossed paper.

It just shows you, you shouldn’t throw anything away even paper you don’t think you’ll ever use.
This next one was also from a SYF class

It was a great way to showcase some picture of my mum and dad when they were young. The frame was die cut and coloured with a gold pen.
Lastly tonight is a paper I fell in love with but was so busy that I only needed to add a few embellishments to complete it. I decided on a stamped flower coloured using a Mustard Seed Distress Ink Pad. The photo is of my Auntie Valerie as a young girl.

I have added a few more pages to the 8 x 8 blog and will continue to put more layouts on here as I find them. Thanks for looking. xx

I’ve been sorting some boxes

and boy am I finding some stuff. Along with a load of Gayle’s cards I have found Lynne Knowles Japanese book and Erica’s old drawing books. I will pass them back when I next see you I promise. I have no doubt I will find loads more so watch this space.
I have also been looking through some of the layouts from earlier in the year and I have now photographed and uploaded them onto the Ladies That Craft website so pop across using the green button and take a peek.
This is my favourite
and I loved these Prima papers and of course, the instant photo setting in Picasa.

Herma has landed

Yes I now have Herma Refills and will be taking them along on Saturday to the Scrapping Your Family class.

The class finishes at 1pm but I will be there until 1.30 so if you have any questions, would like to book a class or need some Herma come along and see me. Can I please ask that you don’t come down before 1pm as I will be teaching the class.
