My Dad

It has taken me a few weeks but I felt I needed to say a public farewell to my lovely dad Peter, who passed away on 7th December 2015. He was a big part of my life and someone I looked up to and who would always be there to pick up the pieces or talk sense into me when things went wrong.
He had a great life and was much loved by not only his family but also his many friends and it was so good to see so many of them last Friday when we said our final farewell.

I have had you near me every day since I was born and now you are gone I will hold you in my heart forever. Love you dad xxxxx

So Poorly

Poor Harry. He's really under the weather at the moment and he keeps snuggling up to me and following me about.

Hopefully in a few days he will be back to his old self.
Don't you just love that cute little face xx

English Country Garden

Pale gluey greens are one of my favourites so this layout sort of came together on its own.

The idea behind it was to use papers from different ranges go together even though the colours didn't match.

So It was a good opportunity to break out the punches and the gems.

And here are a few photos taken in class.

Good work ladies xx

Multiple photos

I love this layout but then again I'm biased as the lovely little girl is my youngest Grandaughter. The layout was not made for class but instead for a magazine, unfortunately it didn't make the cut so now I can share it on here.
Note to self...take better pictures before sending your work off lol.

I love the use of multiple photos. I know some people would never cut into a photo but I always try to use as many of my photos as possible so this seems a good way of doing it.

The pleated tissue paper under the photos is the tissue that you get in little packs and is meant for decoupage. I love it because it is so easy to scrunch or please and looks good on a page.

I also needed to add some journaling and Putting the tag to Olivia's finger made me smile.

and the flowers were made using a flower stamp and then cut out and stuck to make a pretty frame.

More tomorrow xx

The Last Sunflower

Layout two had to be easy as we were limited for time and luckily I had this wonderful paper by Kaisercraft just waiting to be used.

It didn't need much to make a lovely layout for the picture of my grand daughter out amongst the last flowers of the year.

And why the sunflower I hear you ask. Well amazingly enough to I still have a sunflower in my garden.

You can find the background paper HERE.

Come back soon xx

Colour Me Happy

This is the first of two scrapbook layouts designed for class on 15th October.

The layout was inspired by the wonderful colouring books that are popping up all over the place. On seeing the de stressing colouring pages for adults I though....."I can do that" so out came the stamps and here is the result

It's a fantastic way to use loads of different stamps including the teeny tiny ones.

Here is a bit more detail

Layout two tomorrow. Xx

Witchy Birthday

Now these two birthday cards are extra special for That October birthday.

I didn't add any ribbon as everyone wanted cards that would go in normal post but these would look lovely with a satin ribbon at the bottom.

Scrapbook layout tomorrow xx

Merry Christmas Bird

I absolutely love the Tim Holtz Birds and out of the set, this is my favourite. You can't see it, but under his hat is a kiss curl (I call him Elvis)

The Santa hat comes from the Baa Humbug stamps by Hobby Art

These stamps are so much fun to use and are easy to colour.

I have also added a Christmas Card Class on Wednesday 21st October from 7pm to 9pm at Parkwood Community Centre. The class is £11.50 and you will make three Christmas Cards.
If you are interested please email me at ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk or text me if you have my mobile number.

Karen will be teaching the Minibook Class at the same venue.

Another card tomorrow xx

Baa Humbug

A few cards to share over the next few days starting with this Baa Humbug card for that grump in your life who doesn't like Christmas lol

This is made using a fantastic set of stamps by Hobby Art and it even has loads of different hats toplay with as well. I know I'll use them again.

More tomorrow. Xxx

The Pictures on my wall

I love putting pictures around the house so when I found some little frames in my die cutting stash I thought why not make a layout of the pictures I love.

Double frames and stamping give a 3D effect.

The little red heart added under the frame on the left just finished it off nicely. Xx

All cogs

I so love it when I find a "boy" paper and this cog was just the thing to show off photos of my grandson.

You can't see it in the photos but the cog was made so that it can turn and show off more photos or journaling.

Second layout from this class tomorrow. Xx

NEW Creativity 101 Class

It's finished at last, the new project for the Creativity 101 class at the end of October

The heart at the bottom and the little heart in the window move backward and forward on a pendulum.

Numbers are strictly limited and due to the cost of the pendulum clock mechanism and hands this class is £35 per person.

Venue address will be given to all class applicants upon payment but if you have any questions please email me at ladiesthatcraf@live.co.uk

To book your place click HERE  NOW SOLD OUT

Hope to see you soon xxx

We don't remember days....

Layout two was made using a sketch from an old Australian paper daft magazine as inspiration. All of the flowers were made using punches.

The flower centres are sparklers and little black brads.

More tomorrow xx

Two photos

I love using A4 photos but because most people don't have photos that size, I don't get a chance to use them very often.

In this class I used two A4 photos, one in black and white for the background and one colour for the detail.

I like the way a tiny strand of my granddaughters hair hangs from the photo.

Layout two from this class tomorrow xx

Tuesday, 6 October 2015

Mistletoe

I still love this lovely stamp by Woodware. It has so many possibilities.

I could have just stamped the bow to make the card flatter but I really like the Sizzix bows so I had to use one. I also like using real ribbon but it's surprising how many people have a real problem tying bows in class. Less stress with paper lol

Launching the new Creativity 101 Class on 9th October so watch this space xxx

Five snowflakes

Now this card is made around a little stamp made by Docraft which I bought a few days ago. Luckily the Xcut circle die cuts a circle exactly the right size which was a bonus.

The snowflakes are all different so each card will turn out slightly unique depending on where you place the snowflakes.

Then gems, gems, gems to add sparkle and to finish a white pen to pick out some of the dots on the background paper.

More tomorrow. Xx

HAPPY birthday

So back to birthdays and this one can be both a male and female card which is a bonus, so I made two in different colours and added them to my collection.

I see me making many more of these in the future. With all the stamps I have, the designs are endless. Xx
