Diamonds

are a girls best friend is the theme of challenge number four over at Scrapbook Sisters and here is my entry.

As hard as I tried I could'n’t get “Some Like It Hot” out of my head so it had to be Marilyn didn’t it.

The drawing was manipulated in Picassa and the diamonds form her necklace.

003-1 003-2 Make sure you enter a card. It’s a great challenge.

1920’s Mini Book

I showed the card for the challenge, now to share the main project which I taught last week which inspired the card. I loved making this little bag.

028 029 030 031 032 The papers used for the book are backing papers ordered in by accident believe it or not. They turned out great.

Thanks for popping by.xx

Eclectic Taste

I have quite an eclectic taste. Sometimes preferring cute and sometimes preferring unusual. The majority of the time I go for grungey or unusual. So you can imagine my utter delight when we got to use the new 7 Gypsies papers in our fortnightly classes.

Here are the three layouts I made.

BUTTERFLIES007 008 010

EGG PLANT011 012 013 And why did I call this layout Egg Plant. Well there were loads of eggs on the papers and I wanted to use them so I made the centre of the flower out of loads of cut out eggs. I think it worked well.

PICKET FENCE014 015 016 I think it will be a while before I get to use papers as lovely as this again.

Card Challenge Three

This time the theme is “Over The Edge” and I was really struggling until I made the project for Mondays 1920’s Mini Book Class. I made the book so that the cover looked like a Coco Channel Clutch Bag. It was only when I finished that I realised I had been placing the borders over the edge and there was the idea for my card.

002 001 003 004 I really enjoyed making this.

Don’t forget to make your card for the new challenge. We love seeing all of your wonderful ideas.

Ok so time to look back

After saying that I am not a card maker I found myself faced with a pile of cards being taken to the crop, half of which were mine. So on Monday when I was tidying up I decided to photograph a few as a record for myself.

There are loads so here are just a few. Most of these were made for our card classes. Believe me, Karens are much better:)

001 003   002 005 006 009 010 017 There are more which I will share another day. Ok so I do make cards:)

My feet hurt

but it has been a fantastic day. Loads of tea and cake plus laughs and inspiration made for a great day at our crop today. My job this time was to take the class so I chose the 7 Gypsies Printers Tray and some scrummy 7 Gypsies papers.

This was one of the easiest projects I have ever made and most of those who made it, finished although I did get told off for giving out the wrong photo sizes. Hey Ho……I will try better next time.

So here is my class example…. I plan to make many more.

087a088a 088b There are still a few finishing touches that I will make before I hang it on the wall but overall I was please with it.

Time to relax now so off for another cup of tea and an hour with Michael McIntyre. Bliss….

Another Card Challenge

and another card. I must say that card making to order is not my favourite pastime however I am hoping that over the coming weeks and months, that my card making skills will improve. I do try to make a normal card but the Altered Art side of me just keeps peeping through and I have to do something different.

Anyway, enough waffling. Here is the card I made for Card Challenge Number Two over at Scrapbook Sisters. Different I know, but I was please with it.

003 I’m working on loads of projects at the moment so hopefully I will get time to share.

Thanks for looking. xx

Cat Woman????

Everyone who knows anything about me knows that I love cats. I currently have four and they all have their own characters and special places in my heart.

However in the last few months I have taken a shine to a few new pets and they just happen to be dogs. Firstly there was Lily, Karens new puppy and now there’s Jennys new puppy Rupert. I couldn't resist taking some pictures. Rupert is still very young but something tells me he is going to be a big dog:)

Am I a dog lady? No, but I bet it wouldn’t take a lot to make me one. The more I get to know these lovely animals the more I realise what I’m missing out on. Better start working on Hubby. He is my only obstacle now:)

I enjoyed using Prima

which I must say is one of my favourite manufacturers. You never know what they will come out with next but you know it will be extra special.

Here are my two layouts made for Scrapbook Sisters along with a little bit of detail. They took ages but were well worth it.
