A busy card class

and when I added the five new cards to last classes cards we had 13 to choose from so everyone was really busy.

P1050129-001

There were trees and snowflakes and lots and lots of glitter.

P1050130

P1050133

I’ll share the cards tomorrow. Happy Halloween xxx

A great evening

Really enjoyed Tuesdays Scrapbook class.

P1050106-001

There were two layouts to complete, one Christmas and the other more summery (is that a word?) and loads of die cutting however this time I managed to get it all done and in the kits before class so that the layouts could be finished.

Here are a few works in progress

P1050121-001

P1050113-001

I’ll show the two class examples next time.

Card class tomorrow so busy, busy, busy. My house looks like a glitter factory. Have a great day xxx

Tuesdays Scrapbook Class

Photo update

I have used the following:

One 5” x 7” photo.

This can be a photo of your choice, colour or black & white. This is for size only and you may wish to change this after the class.

One A4 photo or four portrait 4” x 6” photos.

A photo can be added to this layout at a later date so don’t panic.

See you there xxx

Mail Art Challenge

This new and exciting challenge starts today and a new theme will be announced on the third Monday of every month.
Before I share our new Design Teams examples with you, let me tell you how it works.
1. Your envelope must be no bigger than an A5 envelope (it can be smaller of course).
2. Your envelope must be posted using a 50p stamp (normal second class mail).
3. Entry is a 50p stamp which should be enclosed in your envelope, along with your name and address.
4. Your envelope should be sent to:
Ladies That Craft, 4 Sandling Way, St Marys Island, Chatham, Kent. ME4 3AZ
5. The top 5 will be chosen by the Design Team and posted on the Blog and from that top 5 a winner will be chosen and the 50p stamps you have all sent in will pay for ALL of the entries to be sent to the winner. Any additional stamps will be carried forward to the next challenge.
6. Anything goes. You can stamp, stick, stencil, mask infact anything you want to do.
7. Entries from all countries are welcome however as I will not be able to use foreign stamps to send out the prize so I will donate all of the foreign stamps to a charity (more details later).
8. Entries must arrive by Monday 11th November and the winner and runners up will be announced on Friday 15th November.
See its simple.
So lets begin. This months challenge is
HALLOWEEN
no surprise there then, but such a fun subject. Here are the DT examples to give you an idea.
Gayle Bond
Gayle has chosen to decorate the front of the envelope and has left plenty of space for the address and stamp. The white envelope measures 15cm x 15cm (6” x 6”)
P1040892
Maria Dickson
Maria got excited and sent two envelopes. Both began life as plain white A5 envelopes. Maria has used a circle mask so that the address can be seen clearly.
P1040885
P1040889
Sally West
Sally has used a standard kraft envelope measuring 16cm x 11.5cm (6 1/4” x 4 1/2”) and has decorated both sides. Sally got so carried away that she forgot to leave space for the address and had to add a label.
P1040895
This is the back of the envelope.
P1040853
Julie Wilson
And lastly mine. When I chose the theme all I could think of was the witches in the Wizard of Oz. Love those shoes.
P1040935
I wanted to cover the shoes with red glitter but I didn’t think the postman would appreciate that so I opted for glitter stars instead. I didn’t add a stamp because I didn’t need to send it to myself.
Now its your turn. I can’t wait to see all of your wonderful decorated envelopes. xxx

More Layouts

Two more layouts from yesterdays class. Each intended to be a single layout
This one using an A4 portrait photo
P1040929
and this one using an A4 landscape photo.
P1040926
I did this because I wasn’t sure what photo everyone would bring in with them. Surprisingly, put side by side they make a great double layout to.
P1040933
Watch out for tomorrows competition launching tomorrow morning. Don’t miss it xxx

Scrapping Your Family and I Remember 2013

It was a great class today with loads of die cutting (I think I need another Sizzix machine to add to the two we already use to reduce the queues). And some lovely finished results.
Here is the class at the end of the three hours (and they are all still smiling)
P1040913
And the double layout celebrating the year 2013.

More Christmas Cards

I managed to get some reasonable photos today so here at last are the rest of the Christmas cards from class.

P1040880

P1040876

I have already started on the cards for the next card class. My house looks like a glitter palace.

More tomorrow. xx

Thursday 17 October 2013

So we had eight to choose from

and everyone got covered in glitter and made loads of mess.

P1040867

I enjoyed making them all but I loved the little cards the most.

P1040865

These cards are 3” square and are really easy to make. In class, two of these cards counted as one card ( so really there were 10 cards to choose from.

The little robins are a great stamp set from Woodware.

Christmas cards

Todays card class was great fun with loads of glitter and mess, but that's half the fun. Unfortunately it’s too dark to take photos of todays of the cards so here is a reminder of some of last years examples.

Scrapping Your Family on Saturday

This is a message for all of the ladies coming to the class on Saturday.
I will add to this post later this week however I thought I would give you a head start and let you know that one of my layouts will include an A4 black and white photo.
If you are able to print a photo off at home try to make it as light as possible as we will be stamping on the photograph.
If you can’t do this there will be other layouts to choose from so don’t panic.
Update 18.10.13
I have also used ten (yes 10) 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" photos each one with a different theme, both colour and black and white so just a selection of 4 x 6 photos will do and you can then cut them down to size.
See you Saturday xx

Time to share

some of the pages made by the ladies at the Creativity 101.  Although I make a selection of pages to copy I am always delighted and surprised at the lovely adapted and new pages that everyone comes up with. None more so than this one where the Memory Box penguins were put to good use.

And then there were these. Looking good girls

Looking forward to seeing more so don’t forget to e-mail me your pictures.

I’m snuggled up indoors with a giant mug of tea and watching the rain pouring down outside. Don’t think I’ll move today. Have a good one xxx

Creativity 101 Project at last

This is a really difficult project to photograph mainly because the book hangs from a frame.
I really enjoyed making this mini book on a stand. Two weeks on I am still adding pages. I don’t seem to be able to stop. Here are a few photos for inspiration.
Front Cover
P1040779
P1040782
And a few of the pages
P1040787
P1040793
P1040797
P1040821
P1040816
And to date there are at least 15 more pages and counting.
Each of the pages was made using a different technique and a variety of products both new and old. Everyone had a great time and I will share some of the classes lovely pages soon.
For those of you who came to class, I will put full instructions on the Ladies That Craft site for you to refer to. I will probably keep adding more pages as the weeks go on so keep checking back. xx

First Day at School

I can’t believe that our little Granddaughter started pre-school recently. Here is the first school photo taken the day before her first day as she tried on her new clothes. I love the bunches in her hair.
1175454_10153148444665577_920743199_n
Photos like this are taken in most families and if you look back at your own photos you will find quite a few. This is a great opportunity to add one more layout to your family album either just showing one particular moment or putting all of the family new school photos on one.
          graduation 2school photo christ church
Here is an example of school photos being used on a layout.
bP1040682z
The photo in the front middle is a photo taken at school. The one on the left is one day after school and the one on the right is me starting in the last two years at secondary school when the uniform changed.

I am launching a new competition very soon, something a bit different and open to everyone, wherever in the world you are, so watch this space for exciting details coming soon.

The sun is shinning and off to clear a bit more of the garden so that I can craft later. Have a great day xx
